Working in a hybrid style, you will be based at home and at the office located at 5 City Square. This is a full-time position, requiring 37 hours per week.

Requirements

  • You should have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Environmental Health or an equivalent qualification, along with the Royal Environmental Health Institute Diploma or other professional body certifications.

Responsibilities

  • You will be assigned to either the Food and Health and Safety Team or the Environment/Public Health Team within the Regulatory Services section of City Development.
  • In the Food and Health and Safety Team, your duties will include conducting food law activities, occupational health and safety interventions, and handling licensing applications.
  • In the Environment/Public Health Team, your responsibilities will involve implementing, supporting, and enforcing Environmental Health legislation related to Public Health and Pollution Control, as well as responding to development management (Planning) and licensing applications.

The Individual

  • The ideal candidate will have general experience across all fields of Environmental Health, with knowledge in food safety, health and safety, environmental protection, statutory nuisances, air quality, and public health.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), computer literacy, presentation skills, and strong reporting abilities are essential.
  • You should be capable of analytical thinking, conflict resolution, and working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility in working hours and the ability to work under deadlines are also required.
