The team is responsible for the successful operational delivery of IDAM Products and Services. This includes the management of Identities, staff and student access, and provision of solutions to support third party access to University resources.

Reporting to the Director of IT Partnerships, the successful candidate will own the development and operation of Identity and Access management products and services across the University. You will work cross functionally with senior stakeholders and IT colleagues to define and implement how the service responds to the strategic needs of the University and to implement new functionality which supports the evolution of the IDAM service.

What will you be doing?

  • You will define and implement a clear product vision for IDAM, how it will develop as a suite of solutions to address the identity and access concerns of the future of education.
  • You will build a timeline and roadmap to demonstrate how the services will evolve to support the needs of the University and manage the planning, prioritisation and implementation of the work to deliver this.
  • You will operate at a Senior and Executive level, building relationships across the University, understanding strategic goals and drivers and identifying ways in which IDAM can help to deliver this.
  • You will provide Product expertise in the subject matter, defining the right Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and metrics and utilising data to drive continuous improvement in Product performance and outcomes.
  • You will provide Product expertise in how to build and manage a Product function, working with stakeholders to define and manage a backlog or prioritise activity to support the operational and strategic needs of the University.
  • You will provide consultancy and expertise to other programmes and product teams and support these initiatives where necessary, aligning roadmaps and deliverables to ensure the right outcomes are achieved for the University.
  • You will need very strong communications and influencing skills as you will be accountable for the development of the IDAM product structure within IT Services.
  • You will bring strong Product Management expertise to effectively build capabilities and enable persisting services to deliver significant operational and strategic value for the University.

You should apply if the following points resonate with you:

  • You have built or managed a Product Capability or spent a significant amount of time as a Product Manager.
  • You have experience of leading a Product team within a wider IT services organisation.
  • You have significant experience working in Identity and Access Management at a senior level.
  • You have significant experience of engaging with, challenging and influencing Executive stakeholders.
  • You have experience of implementing agile ways of working and managing the outcomes from a virtual team.
  • You have a strong understanding of cybersecurity, including Cyber Essentials, and the importance of protecting systems and data.
  • You have a people-led approach in all areas: in supporting service for end-users, managing and developing your own team, and working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience in maturing the IDAM capability across a large complex organisation.
