A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I have recently been diagnosed with front temporal dementia, which has led to a reduced ability to undertake more complicated tasks and think through more difficult situations. Sometimes I am unable to find the right words when speaking. I need assistance when my husband is at work to ensure I am safe, both at home and when I go out, including taking necessary items with me. I am looking for two Personal Care Assistants to cover different shifts. Assistance is needed with meal preparation at home, light housework, and engaging activities like listening to music, singing, playing cards, dominoes, walking, visiting coffee shops, and caring for the family tortoise.
Purpose of the Job
I need support with activities within my home and when I go out to ensure my safety, security, and well-being.
Place of Work
I live in the Cyncoed area of Cardiff. Travel to day centres and nearby places may be required. A full driving licence with suitable insurance is a plus.
HOURS OF WORK
20 hours a week, broken down as follows:
- Tuesday 8am to 6pm
- Wednesday 8am to 10am and 2pm to 6.30pm
- Thursday 3pm to 6.30pm
Flexibility to work across these times and cover for annual leave or other absences is required. Only one assistant will be needed per shift.
RATE OF PAY
£12.55 per hour

- Ensuring safety and well-being within the home
- Supporting outings in the community
- Ensuring home security when going out
- Providing meals and drinks throughout the day
- Assisting with light household duties
