About the Role:

As Global Business Development Manager , you will be instrumental in accelerating VNG Games’ global expansion by forging strategic partnerships with AAA developers and publishers . Your primary focus will be securing multi-million-dollar licensing deals to bring globally acclaimed titles to Asian and global markets while amplifying VNG’s footprint as a trusted publishing partner worldwide.

By bridging relationships between world-class developers and our localized publishing expertise , you will directly shape the future of gaming experiences for millions of players.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Partnership Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain high-impact relationships with leading global game developers and publishers (e.g., Ubisoft, Supercell, EA, Blizzard, Take-Two, etc.).
  • Expand VNG’s global partnership portfolio by establishing new alliances and deepening existing collaborations, with a focus on EU/US markets.
  • Lead end-to-end negotiation and execution of high-value licensing agreements, co-publishing deals, and IP partnerships to secure AAA titles for regional and global distribution.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and capitalizing on emerging opportunities in the global gaming landscape.
  • Provide actionable insights on industry trends, competitive dynamics, and developer pipelines to inform VNG’s global publishing strategy.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities for market entry, IP acquisition, and co-development initiatives tailored to Asian and global audiences.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product managers, marketing, and operations teams to align development with business goals, including user retention, engagement, and revenue.
  • Communicate technical progress, challenges, and timelines to non-technical stakeholders, emphasizing alignment with the business goals.
  • Provide data-driven insights from ThinkingData to inform feature prioritization and validate business impact.

5. Innovation and Optimization:

  • Partner with internal publishing, marketing, and localization teams to ensure seamless integration of global titles into regional markets while preserving creative intent.
  • Act as the bridge between AAA developers and VNG’s regional experts to optimize player experiences through culturally relevant content and localization strategies.

Requirements:

1. Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years in business development, partnership management, or corporate strategy within the gaming industry.
  • Proven track record of closing high-value deals (e.g., licensing agreements, co-publishing partnerships) with global developers or publishers.
  • Deep expertise in PC/mobile gaming sectors; familiarity with AAA titles and live-service models is critical.

2. Network & Cultural Fluency:

  • Established network across top-tier game developers, IP holders, and platforms in North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Ability to navigate cross-cultural negotiations and align global developer priorities with VNG’s localization expertise.

3. Skills:

  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills to drive multi-stakeholder deals.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance global market trends and regional player preferences.

4. Industry Knowledge:

  • Mastery of partnership frameworks, including licensing terms, revenue-sharing models, and co-development structures.
