The Role
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Project Officer with significant museum and art gallery experience, to coordinate and manage the non-construction elements of the Our Cultural Heart project during Phase 2, which will focus on the development of a brand new Museum and Art Gallery. This is your chance to make a significant impact by contributing to the planning and delivery of key aspects of this high-profile cultural initiative. You will play a crucial role in leading on exhibition development, ensuring the coordination of complex and detailed technical requirements, external contractor activity, and curatorial and engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Inspire: Support and coordinate the planning and delivery of non-construction elements for Phase 2 (Museum and Art Gallery) of the OCH project, with a focus on the development of museum and art gallery content.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with internal stakeholders across various departments, particularly Kirklees Museums and Galleries Service, to ensure curatorial and co-production activity is well connected and represented throughout Phase 2.
- Manage and Execute: Manage the contract and performance of external consultants and contractors, ensuring OCH Museum and Art Gallery design and fit-out is delivered smoothly and on target. Coordinate the transfer of collections into the OCH Museum and Art Gallery.
- Procure and Oversee: Coordinate and deliver procurement processes for key contracts related to Phase 2, ensuring high standards and successful completion.
- Coordinate and Support: Act as the key contact for contractors involved in Phase 2, ensuring alignment with plans, processes, and policies, especially those pertaining to museum and art gallery requirements.
