Main Purpose Of Role: To load materials into HGV Vehicles, rehandle as stocking, ensuring stockpiles are compiled in accordance with relevant Health and Safety requirements, including edge protection, stop and tips.

Relationships:

  • Responsible to: Quarry Manager
  • Responsible for: None
  • Liaison with: Directors, Managers, Employees, Clients

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Ensure daily inspection of machinery, including undercarriage, is conducted.
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance such as greasing, cleaning, and monitoring.
  • Maintain and inspect attachments.
  • Record and report on daily check sheets, including hours and defects.
  • Follow start-up and shut-down procedures for machinery.
  • Operate machinery competently and within site conditions.
  • Ensure all operations comply with Quarry Regulations.
  • Report any problems to the Quarry Manager.
  • Wear PPE at all times.
  • Responsible for removing waste products in line with the Company’s Environmental policy.
  • Comply with the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, highlighting issues appropriately.
  • Act in accordance with the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Enthusiastic, committed, and a fast learner with experience in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work with individuals across departments and liaise with external contacts.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to take instruction.
  • Recognized qualification to operate plant (preferably CPCS) or working towards it.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
  • Experience with operating and basic maintenance of mobile plant.
