About the Role:

As a Semi Senior Accountant, you’ll be working closely with seniors and managers to deliver high-quality accounting and tax services to a range of owner-managed businesses, sole traders, and limited companies. You’ll get involved in all areas of client service – from accounts prep and VAT returns to bookkeeping and liaising directly with clients. The firm will support your ongoing studies (ACCA or AAT) and ensure you’re continually developing your skills and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Assisting with management accounts and bookkeeping duties
  • Preparing VAT returns and liaising with clients on VAT queries
  • Supporting with tax computations and filing
  • Working on cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
  • Liaising with clients to request records and answer day-to-day queries
  • Assisting senior staff and managers on ad-hoc project work and audits (if applicable)
  • Progressively taking on more client responsibility as you grow into the role

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 2+ years’ experience in an accountancy practice
  • AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA / ACA (study support available)
  • Good working knowledge of accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Confident communicator with strong client service skills
  • Keen to learn, develop, and take ownership of your work
  • Organised and accurate with good attention to detail
