We’re looking for Prison Support Officers (OSOs) Drivers to join our team at HMP Doncaster. You’ll play a vital role helping prison operations run smoothly.

What does the job involve?

  • To monitor, maintain and record the Vehicle Mileage and to complete the relevant weekly forms which are required for Audits.
  • To be a competent Driver with a clean license and comply with the Serco Drivers Mandate.
  • To liaise with the Garages/Service providers to keep the vehicles roadworthy and legal at all times.
  • To make arrangements for replacement vehicles if required.
  • To keep the vehicles clean both externally and internally.
  • Must be fully aware of map reading (AA Route planners) and how to work a Satellite Navigation system when required.
  • Must display excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Report any matters or occurrences that are untoward to the Security Manager.
  • Complete & maintain in date with all required training.

What we’re looking for

  • Essential: Full Clean UK Driving License - GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C or above) or equivalent, plus good IT skills.
  • Desirable: Experience in a secure environment (e.g., prison service), knowledge of security procedures, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Skills:

  • Strong organisation, analytical thinking, and attention to detail – reading and writing skills are important for report writing and interpreting data.
  • Team player: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, visitors, and prisoners.
  • Trust and discretion: This role involves handling sensitive information with professionalism.

Other requirements:

  • A full driving licence and flexibility to work shifts, which may include nights.
