Department Overview: ING Wholesale Banking ("WB") is looking to hire a Trade Floor support engineer based in London. As part of the team, you will assist in supporting Financial Markets and Group Treasury (FMGT), Treasury and Risk Management (TRM), Debt Capital Markets (DCM) and Financial Research users, dealing with all aspects of Dealing Room technology. You will provide deskside and remote support and become part of a versatile team of engineers. The team works in close collaboration with our Netherlands and Belgium colleagues and other FMGT support teams globally (Asia and the USA). You will be expected to strengthen the relationship and contribute to FMGT global support offering. We also work closely with Workplace Services (WPS) and Infrastructure support teams on site. You will be involved in support outside of FMGT and assist with infrastructure work if needed. The team has a 'flat' hierarchy, and you will be expected to be proactive in your approach, contribute to the development of the team and the support offering. As our new colleague, you will join a diversified skilled TFS team within FMGT consisting of experienced engineers. You will report directly to DRT chapter lead.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

  • Supporting all trade floor, TRM and DCM users, providing deskside and remote support
  • Supporting Market data applications (Bloomberg, LSEG Workspace, Fidessa, FXT, ION)
  • Supporting Microsoft OS, Microsoft Office 365 with emphasis on Excel macros
  • Active Directory user management, AzureAD user management, InTune device management
  • Support all other trade floor applications and broker applications
  • Provision, build and configure laptops, desktops and mobile devices
  • Deal with all hardware requests, setting up/moving desks
  • Support IPC and Cloud 9 Dealerboards
  • Support Audio Visual equipment in meeting rooms
  • Assisting other support teams outside FMGT as needed (network patching and troubleshooting, VIP support and escalations from local 2nd line)
  • Work on ad-hoc IT projects

Candidate Profile Experience / Knowledge:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a deskside support role
  • You possess exceptional skills dealing with stakeholders of all levels, junior to head of Trading Product
  • A good level of understanding of IT environment in financial institution

  • You have excellent troubleshooting skills
  • You understand IT impact on the business and prioritise accordingly
  • Exceptional soft skills i.e. to be able to communicate clearly and coherently with users and explain complicated technical situations to non-technical people
  • You possess the ability to deliver with efficiency and effectiveness
  • You demonstrate determination and dedication towards achieving results
  • You are willing to go above and beyond for the sake of the team and users
  • You are a self-starter and are comfortable working independently and as a part of a team

Qualification/Education:

  • Essential: BA (or equivalent) in a relevant field/IT industry recognised certification
  • Desirable: Scripting (VBA, Powershell, Python)

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Essential: At least 3 years supporting business in a fast pace, dynamic environment, be able to act fast and deliver results when the business is impacted
  • Desirable: Financial institution support (trade floor support is not a must)

Personal Competencies:

  • Essential: Excellent communication skills written and verbal, can work unsupervised, a 'team player'
  • Desirable: Proactive, not afraid to share an opinion, desire for self and team development
