Our client, a well established and growing organisation within the consumer services industry, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team to assist with a time critical project until at least the end of the year.
Purpose of Job
To support in delivering timely, accurate financial reconciliations, insightful data analysis, and structured financial reporting to aid decision-making and maintain financial control. To ensure data integrity across systems, enhance financial visibility, and contribute to financial governance and reporting excellence.
Key Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
- Performing routine and ad-hoc reconciliations between systems, departments, and financial records to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Evaluating large volumes of financial data across revenue streams, expenses, and balance sheet items, identifying trends, variances, and risks.
- Preparing and maintaining detailed reports summarising financial performance, variances, and key reconciliation outcomes.
- Investigating and resolving reconciliation discrepancies, working closely with accounting, treasury, and operations teams.
- Presenting financial insights and reconciliation summaries to internal stakeholders in a clear and actionable format.
- Other analytical and FP&A tasks as required.
Skills and Experience
- 1-2 years' experience in finance, audit, or accounting with exposure to reconciliations and reporting essential.
- Good level of excel knowledge including SUMIF(S), COUNTIF(S), INDEX MATCH, XLOOKUP and GETPIVOTDATA essential. Power Query, SUMPRODUCT and Array functions beneficial.
- Experience in financial data analysis and management reporting is highly advantageous.
- Capable of handling, interpreting, and cleaning large data sets for analysis.
Competency and Personal Attributes
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for accuracy and completeness.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to spot patterns and anomalies in financial data.
- Effective communicator, able to present findings clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple reconciliations and reporting deadlines simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Qualified, or near to qualified essential, ideally CIMA.
Please note that this role is offered on a hybrid basis however you must be flexible with coming to the office on a regular basis- sometimes this could be each day, particularly during your induction period, therefore those that live in High Wycombe and the surrounding area would be preferred.
