The System Delivery Squad Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing a cross-functional team dedicated to delivering high-quality software solutions. This role involves leading the squad through the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring effective collaboration, agile practices, and alignment with business objectives.
We're looking for a collaborative and technically confident Agile Delivery Lead to guide a cross-functional squad of developers, testers, and analysts. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality software solutions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, inclusion, and innovation.
What You'll Be Doing
- You'll lead and support a diverse team-mentoring individuals, conducting regular one-to-ones, and helping team members grow their skills and careers.
- You'll create an environment where everyone feels empowered to contribute and succeed.
- As the delivery lead, you'll facilitate agile ceremonies like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- You'll manage the squad's backlog, prioritising work to ensure alignment with business goals and timely delivery.
- You'll work closely with product owners and stakeholders to define scope, gather requirements, and keep everyone informed on progress, risks, and blockers.
- Your communication will help ensure transparency and trust throughout the project lifecycle.
- On the technical side, you'll provide guidance and oversight-reviewing designs, supporting best practices, and ensuring solutions meet performance and quality standards.
- You'll champion a culture of quality, ensuring robust testing strategies are in place and delivery metrics are tracked and improved.
- You'll also manage team resources, help with recruitment and onboarding, and stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to keep your squad ahead of the curve.
What You'll Bring
- Experience leading cross-functional software delivery teams in an agile environment.
- A strong technical background, ideally with hands-on experience in C# (.NET 8+), YAML/Bicep, SQL, and Azure cloud services.
- Proven experience with Azure environments, including Cosmos/Azure SQL, Functions/Containers, HCM/Express Route, Event Hub/Grid, and Data Bricks.
- Familiarity with Azure deployment pipelines (YAML, Bicep) and on-prem agent deployments.
- Knowledge of tools and practices such as DORA metrics, RESTful APIs, Git, GHAS, and continuous delivery.
- Experience with automated testing tools like NUnit or XUnit.
- A track record of driving continuous improvement through retrospectives, tooling enhancements, or delivery metrics analysis.
