We are looking for a passionate and resilient Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a welcoming school setting in Northumberland. This is a full-time, term-time role ideal for someone experienced in behaviour support, who is committed to making a positive difference in children's lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEN and SEMH
  • Support children with behaviour regulation and emotional needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual support plans
  • Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning

Requirements

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – Essential
  • Experience working with SEN and/or SEMH children – Preferred
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work with empathy and patience
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
