Are you passionate about supporting people out of homelessness? We are looking for people who bring a range of skills to the organisation to help us meet our mission. HARP is Southend-on-Sea's leading homelessness charity, working with around 1,000 local people annually to help them overcome or avoid homelessness. It is an exciting time to join HARP. The organisation has undergone significant change and growth over the past twelve months, with ambitious plans for the future to continue transforming lives.

About The Role

Do you have a clean driver's license and want to put this to good use helping others less fortunate? If so, we would love you to join our new team and project at the Gender Specific Women's Project as a Specialist Project Worker. We are looking to recruit a dynamic and innovative worker to join a new team dedicated to delivering an intensive, high-quality, individualised support service for women experiencing multiple disadvantages and complex needs. The role involves working within a team of five, employing a gender-specific and trauma-informed approach to ensure client needs and aspirations are central to the support planning process, within a psychologically informed environment. The project aims to offer various support services and collaborate with other local organisations and providers.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Create a community of support and empowerment among women, focusing on building personalised skills and resources to enhance self-esteem and confidence.
  • Provide guidance and support to other project workers, acting as a mentor and resource for best practices.
  • Report incidents and safeguarding concerns within designated timescales, ensuring follow-up plans are implemented.
  • Participate in delivering tailored, co-produced activities and on-site specialist services, using a gender-informed approach.
  • Ensure women's needs and aspirations are prioritized in support plans, delivered within a psychologically informed environment.
  • Provide intensive housing management for residents in supported accommodation.
  • Develop and review safety and risk management plans for all caseload clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on the HARP In-Form database, complying with Data Protection requirements.
  • Support women in understanding and accessing welfare, housing, benefits, and legal rights.
  • Advocate on behalf of women to ensure comprehensive support both internally and externally.
  • Work within the Team Around Me model for multi-agency meetings, taking a leadership role when necessary.
