We are seeking consultant colleagues to join our friendly, dynamic team on a Locum contract of 12 months. Based between the Orthopaedic Trauma Unit, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the Grampian Elective Orthopaedic Centre, Woodend Hospital, these posts are offered on a whole time basis. The successful candidates will join an existing department of 29 NHS Surgeons.

The Orthopaedic department provides a comprehensive Trauma and Elective service for patients in the Grampian region. In addition, it acts as a tertiary referral centre for the Highland, Shetland and Orkney regions. There is an active research and teaching programme. We are one of the busiest Trauma and Elective units in the United Kingdom. The Major Trauma Centre for the North of Scotland is based in Aberdeen.

Aberdeenshire boasts many picturesque towns and villages within easy commuting distance, providing access to an enormous range of outdoor pursuits including walking, mountaineering, mountain biking, road biking, gliding, fishing and in the winter skiing. Excellent transport links ensure that Edinburgh and Glasgow are less than 3 hours by train. Aberdeen airport has multiple flights daily to London and many other destinations across the UK and Europe.

NHS Grampian welcomes applications from nearly and newly qualified Consultants as well as established Consultants. Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post).
