The Role
We are seeking a motivated, technical, and numerate individual to join our Financial Reporting team, focusing on joint venture results and group consolidation. This is a financial accountant role involving collaboration with the Financial Reporting Management, commercial teams, and external stakeholders, contributing to business analysis, decision-making, and relationship management.
What You’ll Do
- Handle day-to-day finance matters and reporting for the joint venture.
- Act as a reliable point of contact for internal teams and external JV partners regarding financial issues.
- Prepare management information for quarterly board packs.
- Analyze actual performance versus budget/forecast for finance partners.
- Review cash balances, funding needs, and prepare quarterly cash flow statements.
- Draft technical accounting memos for transactions in the JV.
- Calculate funding requirements and manage quarterly dividends/distributions.
- Prepare JV management accounts, coordinating with internal sources.
- Assist in preparing statutory accounts, disclosures, and stakeholder reviews.
- Contribute to operating forecasts for the annual business plan.
- Understand and articulate complex corporate structures to the finance team.
- Assess financial covenant strength of customers.
- Support corporate transactions and restructures alongside Tax, Treasury, and Capital Markets teams.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses to support management decision-making.
About You
- Degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent qualification.
- Newly qualified Accountant (ICAEW or equivalent) with strong technical skills.
- Experience in top accounting firms.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems.
- Confident communicator with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ownership mindset with collaborative working skills.
- Commercial awareness and ability to handle detailed and big-picture tasks.
- Proficient in analyzing complex transactions and preparing clear schedules.
- Experience with audit or statutory accounts production.
- Excellent Excel and data analysis skills.
