The following learning will all be delivered to you by BTRAC and Telford College. If there are certain tasks that you don't understand, we can explain those parts of the role at the interview stage.

  • Shadowing service technicians at site
  • Learning the basics of On Load Tapchangers and how they function
  • Travelling nationally around the U.K and Ireland
  • Going through all training to ensure competency and safety when on site
  • Supporting BTRAC manufacturing
  • Booking hotels and managing company expenses
  • Further shadowing of an OLTC service
  • Creating RAMS and site documents
  • Being the β€œ2nd” man on larger scope jobs which include lifting and oil handling
  • Travelling to Regensburg over the summer break from college to start formal internal training
  • Supporting and conducting parts of the OLTC services
  • Learning about the Motor drives and wider product portfolio
  • Learning about the wider Transformer components, their assembly and interface with Transformers
  • Taking internal exams to get Premium Service Provider (PSP) qualified on our range of On Load Tapchangers
  • Once PSP qualified, leading and running a full OLTC service from start to finish
  • Completing full product portfolio training in Regensburg to be competent on all required products
