Scottish Veterans’ Residences (SVR) is Scotland's oldest military charity. We support former Armed Forces and Merchant Navy personnel who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or need housing support. We are recruiting a Housing Support Officer to join our Support Team at Whitefoord House, an 83-room residence located at the foot of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. This is a permanent full-time position (37.5 hours/week) working across seven days on a four-week rotating rota. The role is subject to PVG check.

Whitefoord House offers a dynamic housing support service to help Veterans regain independence. We aim to maximize their independence and support their transition to permanent accommodation where appropriate. Residents have fully furnished en-suite rooms and access to on-site facilities including a modern dining room, gym, community library, and laundry services. This role is central to delivering our service and presents a valuable career opportunity.

About You

You should be motivated, dedicated, and enthusiastic, responsible for the daily support of our Veterans. To align with our Vision and Mission, you will embody our Values to ensure the safety, health, comfort, and welfare of Veterans, in accordance with the Care Inspectorate’s Health and Social Care Standards. Applicants must have a minimum of three years’ experience in housing support, be professionally qualified and registered with the SSSC, and hold an SVQ3 (or be working towards it). An understanding of the supported housing sector and a proven track record of delivering high-quality services are essential. You should be reliable, consistent, focused, and adaptable in your approach.
