Macildowie are working with this client based in Derby (DE21) to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join a reputable and growing accountancy practice. This is a permanent, office-based role offering a salary of up to £32,000, depending on experience, with study support available. The position is ideal for someone with accountancy practice experience who is looking to progress their career in management accounts and gain exposure to a diverse range of clients and sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of clients
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Preparing accruals, prepayments and journal entries
- Liaising with clients to gather financial data and clarify queries
- Assisting with VAT returns, payroll and other ad hoc financial reporting
- Supporting the production of year-end files for external accountants or audits
What We're Looking For:
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent experience)
- Previous experience working in an accountancy practice is essential
- Strong Excel skills and knowledge of cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
