Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain a welcoming manner when service users are admitted to the home and assist them to settle in.
  • Provide support with daily tasks to enable residents to live their best lives.
  • Ensure resident needs and wishes are met.
  • Provide companionship by talking with and listening to residents, understanding their likes and dislikes.
  • Encourage residents to join organised activities and provide meaningful moments with the assistance of the team.
  • Work with residents in the provision of personal care.
  • Assist residents with eating and drinking, encouraging a healthy, balanced diet.
  • Complete all food and fluid charts and other daily monitoring records as requested.
  • Support infection control: clean spills promptly, promote hand hygiene, use PPE correctly, and follow infection control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper segregation of waste material.
  • Respond promptly to the Nurse Call System and report concerns, accidents, or unexplained injuries to the nurse in charge.
  • Accurately record and report essential information in the resident’s daily report and care plan.
  • Respect residents’ possessions and keep bedrooms and communal areas tidy and presentable; respect dignity and privacy.
  • Keep all information about residents and the home confidential, including when using social media.
  • Collaborate with other health and social care professionals to provide holistic care.
  • Undertake any other duties as required.
  • This position requires a PVG and two references.
