Store Manager – SPAR East Wemyss C J Lang & Son Ltd is the wholesaler for SPAR Scotland, the largest symbol group in Scotland with over 300 convenience stores across the country. We are a family-owned Retail and Distribution business based in Dundee, serving local communities through our Company Owned SPAR Stores and a distribution network covering countryside to coast. Role Overview As Store Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of running a busy retail store. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, management, and commercial skills, with a natural ability to plan ahead. You will manage store operations to deliver excellent customer service, maximize sales, and increase profitability. We offer a comprehensive training programme to support your development. Responsibilities Manage and develop a highly effective team, enhancing their operational, customer service, and team skills. Ensure the right range, quality, and availability of products in line with SPAR standards, promotions, NPD, and customer needs to foster community loyalty. Support sales growth and profit maximization through your expertise and knowledge. Lead the implementation of Food to Go across your team, ensuring standards and sales targets are met. Manage resources efficiently to deliver all store activities, working hours when most beneficial to customers, and addressing root cause issues with sustainable solutions. Maintain compliance with safety, legal standards, and licensing requirements, including food safety, hygiene, and sales of alcohol and cigarettes. Coach your team to uphold a safe, clean, and legal environment. About You Experience in retail, preferably within the Grocery sector. Proven leadership and team management skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing customer and business needs. Commercial awareness to drive performance and revenue.
