The Student Union AV Technician Level I is an entry level position designed to introduce interested students to live audio, video, and networked streaming systems. You will provide support for our facility's guest users and other production staff. Upon successful training, advancement opportunities exist to level II Production and III Lead technicians.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This position provides sound, lighting, and video services for various productions and events in the Student Union/University Center.
  • Providing technical support to guest users of the facilities.
  • Troubleshooting and correcting hardware, software, and network issues.

Evening and weekend hours are required. This position reports to the Lead Technology Support Specialist.

Qualifications:

  • This is an entry level position; previous experience with sound, video, lighting, networking, or PC repair is not required, but is a plus.
  • On the job training will be provided.
  • Any candidate who is offered this position will be required to go through a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.
