Proseal UK Ltd designs and manufactures high quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry. Established for over 20 years, demand for the Proseal product is growing, and we are responsible for developing many plastic-based alternatives for preserving the life of and carrying food safely.
Main Purpose of Job:
This role is responsible for performing purchase order processing routines driven by both repeatable MRP spend and project-based requirements from supplier choice, request for quotation through to delivery. This will include elements of sourcing, supplier relationship management, risk management, negotiation, and internal stakeholder management.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
- Ensure all activities undertaken are carried out in accordance with all current Health and Safety guidance.
- Triage, prioritise and action the central Purchasing inbox queries.
- Action PO requests via MRP Demands and adhoc requests as required.
- Ensure confirmations are received for newly placed orders and delivery dates are in line with expectations and updated on the MRP system.
- Make recommendations as to sourcing routes to ensure best value whilst working with suppliers to develop relationships.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and payment terms directly with suppliers to ensure best value is always achieved.
- Support cross-functional departments with purchasing requirements.
- Participate in supplier meetings where required.
- Liaise with suppliers when issues are raised via the iQMS system to ensure timely rectification and feedback.
- Support the Master Data accuracy within the MRP system.
- General Purchasing and Supply Chain administration.
- Active involvement in identifying and contributing to process improvements to improve efficiency and effectiveness of Purchasing and Supply Chain functions.
- Any other duties commensurate with the role.
Skills Required:
- Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative.
- Be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks and adapt to changing business needs.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office package (particularly Excel and Word).
- Confident, reliable, hardworking, and flexible.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a Purchasing Administrator/Junior Buyer type role.
- Sage 200 (Required).
- CIPS qualification preferred.
