Our client has a full-time vacancy for a Footwear Technician to work in their Footwear Testing department based in Kettering.
Responsibilities:
- Operate standard laboratory equipment in line with Health and Safety assessments and test methods to conduct routine physical testing of footwear, their materials, and components.
- Take responsibility for certain aspects of the laboratory and stores maintenance and upkeep.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare samples and conduct testing work to meet agreed deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with UKAS requirements, including maintaining personal training records.
About You:
- Candidates must have GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science (NVQ L3) and be familiar with MS Word and Excel.
- The successful candidate should be able to work to deadlines, produce accurate and detailed results, and work independently as well as part of the team.
- Good organization, time management, meticulous attention to detail, and planning skills are essential.
- Previous experience in a physical test laboratory is advantageous, as is knowledge of footwear construction and materials; however, full training will be provided.
- Flexibility, tenacity, and a ‘can-do attitude’ are key requisites.
- Knowledge of footwear construction and materials, along with experience in a test laboratory environment, would be desirable.
