We’re on the hunt for a Sr. PCB Design Engineer. MDA’s international footprint in the UK creates opportunities to work with some of the most exciting space industrial players in the country. Delivering all three business area capabilities in Geointelligence, Robotics & Space Operations, and Satellite Systems, our UK team provides support to our European-based customers while specializing in the development of advanced space sensors for exploration missions as well as space-based communication technology. As our presence grows overseas, so does our need for new ambitious team players to help us advance our place in the Universe and beyond.
Responsibilities- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers developing space telecommunication payloads, instruments, and sensors.
- Design and develop PCB layouts and schematics using industry-standard software tools.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate PCBs into larger systems.
- Review and approve PCB designs for manufacturability and compliance with industry standards.
- Create and maintain symbol and footprint libraries for schematic and PCB entry.
- Document design processes and maintain project records.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely production of PCBs.
- Proficiency in PCB design software; Cadence Allegro and/or Siemens Xpedition.
- Knowledge of PLM tools such as Teamcenter is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of electronic components and circuit design principles.
- Working knowledge of PCB high-speed design and high current power distribution techniques.
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in PCB design and development is preferred.
