Role Purpose

The role of the investment oversight team is to work with partners (investment managers & sponsors) to deliver investment outcomes in line with investor expectations. We do this by working closely with partners to ensure:

  • Fund investment objectives are in line with the investable universe / opportunity set of the fund.
  • The managers' investment style and process are transparent to investors.
  • Managers have the appropriate resources to support their investment process and style.
  • Managers deliver medium / long term performance in line with investor expectations for both risk and return.
  • Any material changes in a manager’s process and style are appropriately communicated to investors.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake due diligence reports & monitoring of managers as directed by the Head of Investment Oversight or the deputy.
  • Undertake the creation and write-up of the IOT value assessment templates, forming an important input into the IFSL value assessment framework as directed by the Head of Investment Oversight or the deputy.
  • Deputise for Andrew Johnstone in minuting and collating investment papers for the Investment Oversight Committee.
  • Monitoring and assessing managers' investment performance (scorecards & performance data responsibilities).
  • Portfolio stress testing and benchmark analysis.
  • Quantitative support of the team’s infrastructure (automating processes where possible).

Requirements

  • Understanding investments in terms of people, philosophy, research, investment & portfolio construction, and risk management.
  • Solutions oriented.

Essential Qualifications

  • A first degree that is 2:1 or higher in Economics, Finance, or Accountancy.

Beneficial Qualifications

  • IMC and/or CFA
  • 1-3 years in either front line investment management or investment oversight.
