ARCHITECTURE BOARD – AEROSPACE AND DEFENCE:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A team of five experts serving as a quality control group composed of highly talented technologists. They evaluate specifications, guide system architects, control design engineers, optical engineers, hardware and embedded software engineers, EDA engineers, robotics and AI experts, legal and regulatory advisors, product counsel, UX/UI designers, electronics and PTO engineers, cybersecurity specialists, automation and CNC programmers, remote sensing and field network analysts, machine learning engineers, telemetry and data engineers, thermal engineers, CAD and antenna engineers, NPI engineers, high-speed RF engineers, software developers, ground station operators, GIS engineers, system and network integration engineers, FPGA engineers, data scientists, DevSecOps and SecOps engineers, electrical engineers, cabling and infrastructure engineers, and field application engineers. They uphold our standards across various verticals including business modeling, space communication, military command and control, and software security standards. The goal is to develop interoperable, reconfigurable components, leverage standards, and enhance secure networking across manufacturing, space, and framework controls, supporting early-stage product development in our startup environment.

ENVIRONMENT: This position operates within the (ROCKET FUEL) MISSION INTELLIGENCE DIVISION , focused on innovation, speed, and space exploration in scientific systems.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the UK . Verification of employment eligibility is required at hire; visa sponsorship is not available.

QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lead Space Station Engineer / BEng in Computer or Systems Engineering / Electronic & Embedded Engineer / 20+ years FPGA Design experience / AI Governance Lead / Cryptography Specialist
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with 15+ years proven experience
  • Member of a professional body (e.g., IET, InstMC)
  • BEng in relevant fields
  • Embedded C/C++, RTOS (FreeRTOS, Cesium), Microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32), Communication protocols (BLE, CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, I2S), Tools (STM32CubeIDE, ESP-IDF, JTAG)
  • Embedded Software Engineer with 20+ years experience in Embedded C/C++, Python, Linux, RTOS, microcontrollers, network protocols, Model-Based Design
  • Expertise in Machine Learning & AI, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Data Science, Programming (Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, MATLAB, Julia), Computational Modeling (FEA, HPC)
  • Additional qualifications include MEng in Electronics and Computer Science, BSc in Electronic Engineering, RF Design, PCB Design, 5G, MIMO, Satellite communications, High-Speed RF applications, VHDL & FPGA design, and experience with measurement tools
  • Certifications such as CISM, CAP, ISSAP, IASAE, and DoD 8570 certifications are prerequisites

INTERVIEW PROCESS:

  1. Stage 1: Cognitive Ability Test
  2. Stage 2: Cognitive Assessment with a psychologist (30+ years experience)
  3. Stage 3: Pre-screening (verification checks & DV security clearance)
  4. Stage 4: Interviews with CEO, CTO & Chief Engineer
