WHAT TO EXPECT
- Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other vehicles in the company fleet, performing regular inspections and general preventive maintenance services.
- Carrying out servicing checks on electrical systems, diagnosing faulty components, and fitting replacements, while maintaining records of repairs and maintenance.
- Providing emergency repair services to clients on the road. This role involves driving responsibilities.
- Maintain the fleet.
- Maintain third-party equipment when instructed.
- Distribute and transport materials, components, and sub-assemblies to meet operational requirements on behalf of JLR.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Ensure safe operational conditions of vehicles & assist in loading and unloading.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- A Level 3 NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance or a recognized apprenticeship as a Heavy Goods Mechanic/Technician/Fitter.
- HGV Class 1 license and knowledge of related duties such as secure loading and use of chains and stretching equipment.
- Knowledge of load security, traffic regulations, tachographs, and EU standards.
- Willingness to work overtime, unsocial hours, and various start times.
