We are now looking for a CNC Machinist - Late Shift to join our team working for a better future. The preferred location for the position is in Havant, UK.
What you will be doing
You will work during the following shift pattern:
- Mon 14:30 to 22:30 (½ hour lunch)
- Tues 14:30 to 22:30 (½ hour lunch)
- Wed 14:30 to 22:30 (½ hour lunch)
- Thurs 14:30 to 22:30 (½ hour lunch)
- Fri 12:30 to 20:00
As CNC Machinist, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Drive improvements as part of continuous improvement culture
- Work in a safe manner in line with the company's Health and Safety policy
- Maintain working area to a good standard as part of 5S
- Ensure quality is maintained and follow processes for area to company standards
- Carry out tasks in accordance with set process times to meet deadlines
- Have a flexible approach and at times move onto other disciplines within skill set
- Help with skills flex training and cross train others when required
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Experience of working in an Engineering environment
- Previous experience of setting/operating Mazak machines
- Ability to read Engineering Drawings
- Ability to read CNC code, ISO (G code) / Mazatrol
- Offline Programming Experience Edgecam/Mastercam/Mazatrol - advantageous
- Ideally Apprentice served
- Understanding of Turning and Milling techniques
- Ability to problem solve
- Understand Health & Safety environment/procedures
- Good communicator with all levels of business (written & verbal)
- Hands-on approach with a strong work ethic
Education:
- GCSE/O Level or equivalent
- Apprentice served
Experience:
- 5 years (min) Engineering experience within the manufacturing industry (Apprentice Trained)
- 5 years (min) CNC machining experience
- Milling and turning experience preferred
- CI experience (Lean 8 wastes). Safety / 5S work ethic
- Computer Literate (Microsoft)
