The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
We are currently looking for a machine shop labourer. Ideally, you will have some machining background, but this is not essential as full training can be provided. You will assist with machining centrifugally spun castings for the Aerospace and Power Generation industries, working with a range of stainless alloys.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Assist with machining large castings to drawings and specified tolerances.
- Ensure production meets set timeframes.
- Conduct visual inspections of machined castings.
- Mark up swarf drums for alloy identification.
- Work as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Work safely in accordance with FVC’s safety standards and procedures.
The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and produce dimensionally correct components.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible attitude towards work and overtime, including shift work.
- Good understanding of health & safety, environmental issues, and quality standards.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
