We are currently seeking an experienced CDL Class B Driver to join our Jamesville team. This position involves driving to and from the Plants, Quarries, and job sites safely and efficiently.
Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00
Main Responsibilities:
- Operate truck equipped with a live bottom body to transport dump loose material such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, bituminous paving materials.
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspection checklist on equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
- Handle paperwork concerning load tickets.
- Carry out detailed instructions but also use good judgment in decision making and work without direct supervision.
- Must be able to oil, grease, and fuel truck.
- Operate the vehicle safely in traffic situations and follow company policies and procedures.
- Comply with all NYSDOT rules and regulations.
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Overtime and night shifts as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Climb onto and up and down a vehicle several times a day.
- Sit in a vehicle and operate it for several hours.
- Withstand vibration, noise from the truck engine, equipment, and traffic.
- Use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions.
- Perform manual duties such as sweeping/shoveling debris and rocks out of the truck bed, handling tailgate chains, binders, and binding chains.
- Regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Minimum Experience:
- Valid NYS driver's license - CDL B
- Experience operating dump trucks
- OSHA 10 – (Construction) Safety
Assist shop mechanics in preventative maintenance to keep the unit operating safely. Adhere to all health and safety policies and regulations. Wear and maintain PPE as required.
