Our growing financial institution is seeking a Customer Service Representative/Teller to be an integral part of our Brewster team. The successful candidate will be a friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable CSR/Teller with strong customer service skills. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting customers with a variety of banking needs. The pay range for this position is: $17.00 to $23.71 per hour.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Process retail and commercial checking and savings deposits by ensuring all necessary deposit documents are in proper form.
- Cash checks, handle savings withdrawals and cash advances; confirm all necessary documents are properly authorized, in proper form, and within limits; make decisions on questionable items presented for cashing.
- Operate computer terminals to process account activity, determine balances, and resolve issues.
- Assist with night depository duties: logging, bagging, processing deposits, making change orders, issuing receipts, and returning bags to customers.
- Cross-sell the Bank's products and services, referring customers to appropriate staff as needed.
- Issue cashier's checks.
- Perform safe deposit duties, controlling access and assisting customers.
- Receive and process stop payment and hold orders.
- Accept loan payments.
- Balance cash drawer daily and verify cash being returned to the vault.
- Provide effective customer service and assist in resolving problems within your authority.
- Maintain records and logs; prepare wire transfers; sort mail or reports as required.
- Answer telephones and direct callers appropriately.
- Gather data and process reports such as currency transaction reports, returned items, overdrafts, and audit reports.
- Process traveler's checks, ATM deposits, change orders, and deposit slip corrections.
- Assist in opening and closing the vault daily; balance vault currency and coin.
- Copy, scan, fax documents to files, and distribute to relevant personnel.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Cash Handling Experience (Preferred)
- Customer Service Experience (Preferred)
- Ability to work professionally and maintain confidentiality.
- Basic ten-key skills.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Professional verbal communication skills.
- Ability to promote the organization positively to customers and colleagues.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Reliable attendance during scheduled shifts.
Must perform work indoors in a climate-controlled environment with moderate noise. Requires sitting, repetitive hand motions, talking, and hearing. Occasionally standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Must operate routine office equipment and work extended hours or travel as needed. Capable of climbing stairs in emergencies. Visual acuity for data analysis, inspection, and reading is essential.
