The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical tasks based on training, education, and competency evaluations. These tasks are delegated by and supervised under the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Certification/LicensureCertified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), EMT Basic Certification (EMT) within the state(s) of practice.
