The Company
Our client is a well-established manufacturer in the convenience food arena with a distinctive market presence, a strong consumer understanding and excellent customer service. They are now seeking a foodie Product Developer to join their creative team, developing innovative products for the major UK retailers. Please note this is a 12 month contract.
The Role
In this diverse and rewarding role you’ll play an instrumental part in developing new and existing product ranges to keep up with consumer expectations in this ever-changing market. You will work as part of a large and supportive NPD team to develop and drive the product development process forward. Working closely with the NPD chefs, you will be key in creating recipes and inputting these into the system, ensuring they are accurate and meet cost, weight, and nutritional requirements. You’ll work from the concept brief stage to product approval, creating commercially viable products that encompass new and seasonal food trends. You’ll also be using your extensive food knowledge to source new ingredients and identify opportunities that will enhance products that taste great whilst being in line with customer and business values.
The Person
Suit a creative and tenacious NPD Technologist / Product Developer who has worked in a similar fast-paced food manufacturing environment, with proven experience of developing creative new products and producing high quality documentation. Ideally you will also have a food degree or similar alongside NPD experience. You will enjoy working in a customer focused role with the confidence to present ideas to all levels within the business and also directly to customers. You will have a resourceful and flexible approach to NPD processes coupled with amazing communication and organisation skills in order to work with your team to deliver successful NPD projects.
