About the Role

At St John Ambulance, we aim to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education. We seek passionate individuals who care about their communities and want to make a difference by sharing their first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you will deliver first aid at local events and educate the public to promote the importance of First Aid.

Responsibilities

  • Support community partnerships and grow our membership and fundraising efforts.
  • Deliver first aid at community events.
  • Provide first aid education to the public.
  • Participate in community outreach to spread awareness about First Aid.

Training and Support

We provide a comprehensive induction, necessary training, and a supportive environment for volunteers. Details about roles are included in the role descriptions and outlined in the volunteer charter.

Important Dates

  • Interview Day: Saturday, 5th July 2025, at Sidcup HQ (9:00-13:00). Attendance is mandatory.
  • Course for CFA qualification: Sunday, 7th September and Sunday, 21st September, with pre-course e-learning.
  • Weekly meetings at Erith Vets club every Monday evening, excluding holidays. The first session is on Monday, 7th July, featuring a scenario night, followed by a social night on 14th July.

Commitments

  • Attend 2 meetings per month at Erith Vets club.
  • Complete a minimum of 80 event hours annually.
  • Be available for all scheduled training and meetings.
