The company specialises in manufacturing and supplying drive train components, precision valve and pump internal components, with a particular focus on precision shafts up to 4 meters in length.
Position: We have an exciting opportunity for a programmer, setter, operator to join our Large CNC Turning Cell at our Liverpool site. As a subcontract machine shop, we manufacture one-offs and small batches, maximizing employee skills. The role includes creating programs, selecting tooling, and machining shafts up to 3.2m from various steel grades using advanced CNC Lathes with live tooling and programmable steadies, utilizing both 'C' & 'Y' axis machining.
Requirements:
- Essential candidate requirements:
- NVQ 3 or equivalent
- Proficient in programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes with Fanuc Controls
- Ability to work from detailed engineering drawings
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Systems
- Experience machining exotic metals (e.g., super duplex, duplex, 718, x750, Hastelloy, Monel)
- Previous experience in a similar role (2yrs min)
- Strong planning and organizing skills
- Effective communication with peers and management
- Attention to detail
- Preferred experience but not essential requirements:
- Doosan Lathes (Chuck sizes ranging from 8” to 30”) (Lengths from 1m to 3.2m)
- Manual Guide Programming capabilities
- One CNC Programming Software package
- C & Y axis programming and machining
- Programmable steadies
- Production of valve and pump components
- Serving the Nuclear, Defence, oil, gas, fluid, and power generation sectors
- Proficient in Office 365 and ERP Systems
