Overview
Help us care for our residents by serving them healthy, delicious meals. Elderwood of Scallop Shell at Wakefield is searching for part-time Dining Service Associates.
Available schedules: Monday and Friday 11am-7pm or Saturday 6:30am-2:30pm/11am-7pm
Dining Service Associate (DSA) team members are responsible for ensuring the health and wellbeing of our residents by preparing food and beverages, serving meals, and maintaining kitchen sanitation. They also assist in providing a positive experience for residents while following all applicable regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of meals to residents according to department policy and position assignment.
- Adhere to residents\’ diet orders, texture/consistency modifications, and menu preferences during food preparation and service.
- Perform all responsibilities of the designated position during the scheduled shift, following safety regulations and standards of practice.
- Serve meals to residents in dining areas according to seating charts and tray ticket instructions.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of the kitchen environment and equipment.
- Participate actively in facility and department staff meetings and inservices.
- Communicate with residents and family members regarding meal service quality as needed.
- Utilize electronic timekeeping systems as directed.
- Arrive on time, work as scheduled, and follow the dress code, including wearing a name tag at all times.
- Follow policies regarding electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.

- Adhere to Elderwood’s code of conduct, compliance, and HIPAA policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, management, or administrator.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age.
- Employment certificate/permit required for applicable individuals.
- Prior customer service experience.
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain.
- Physical stamina for constant activity.
- HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in food service, hospitality, serving, or restaurant work is desirable.
This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors. Employees must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or higher level to ensure a safe work environment and effective communication.
