The Rowborough Estate is a privately owned sporting estate situated in the undulating hills of the Isle of Wight's largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is part of a wider family-owned portfolio of trading assets and luxury businesses. The Estate currently comprises a portfolio of let farms on AHA's and FBT's, in-hand farming opportunities, a large area of in-hand woodland, as well as residential properties, a long-established driven pheasant & partridge shoot, development projects and significant potential for growth.
The Estate is seeking a full-time Estate Manager to lead operations and drive business growth while the owners spend peak summer and winter months on the Isle of Wight. This new position presents an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to manage and develop a diverse Estate, with ample opportunity for new initiatives across both agricultural and non-agricultural sectors to ensure financial sustainability.
The ideal candidate will be an integral member of the Estate's strategic board, fostering a long-term partnership with the owners. He/she will work independently while contributing valuable insights during quarterly board meetings to help achieve the Estate's vision.
The position will suit a dynamic, resourceful and proactive person who can juggle the many different aspects of day-to-day life on the Estate. Candidate qualities we are looking for include:
- Ideally MRICS with a proven track record in the management of private estates with significant alternative income generating activities.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, business savvy, with strong commercial and financial acumen, experience of budgeting, cost control, profit and loss, and a keen focus on maximising return on investment across diverse operations and income streams.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a friendly and approachable style.
- A relationship builder able to engage with a variety of individuals and negotiate successful outcomes for key stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and driven, a strategic thinker, capable of showing initiative and contributing innovative ideas.
- Community orientated, with a strong commitment to the environmental and social impact of the role.
