A really fantastic opportunity for a Site Installer to carry out installations and maintenance (including temporary heating, environmental monitoring, temporary fume and ventilation, LEV) across the Portsmouth Naval Base. You will also be required to assist with equipment breakdowns and workshop/warehouse activities at the Naval Base. Training will be provided. Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position.
Main Responsibilities:
- To carry out technical LEV installations
- To assist in carrying out technical surveys for the above
- To assist in carrying out LEV testing and reports
- To carry out fault-finding activities on equipment breakdowns
- To carry out PAT tests on equipment
- To complete delivery/collection documentation as required
- To assist in writing/reviewing RAMS
- To assist in managing on site logistics (booking cranes/lifts etc)
- To assist in general stores/workshop activities
- To promote health & safety across the operations teams
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years electrical/mechanical engineering experience
- Experience in installing, maintaining and repairing electromechanical equipment
- Navy or shipyard experience essential
- Good understanding of current health & safety regulations
- Knowledge of Occupational Hygiene Hazards and Controls
- Knowledge of temporary ventilation systems (beneficial)
- Formal Electrical Qualification essential
- Good electrical/mechanical knowledge
- Good IT skills and communication skills (verbal & written)
- Good interpersonal skills
- Previous/current UK security clearance (essential)
- Full Driving Licence essential
