EFAB Industrial Solutions, a leading Engineering Construction business based in Immingham, are seeking a Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their successful team. The Senior Process Safety Engineer will be responsible for delivering complex and challenging technical process safety solutions to clients in the form of stand-alone consultancy, acting as a subject matter expert across a range of projects and technical areas. They will guide and review the technical solutions of junior engineers, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, in accordance with all relevant engineering and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities of Senior Process Safety Engineer
- Conduct Process Safety activities such as HAZOP, HAZID, SWIFT, LOPA, SIL, ATEX, DSEAR, etc.
- Maintain health, safety, and environmental standards across projects.
- Assist in setting HSE criteria and preparing Process Safety and Environmental Plans.
- Act as HSE expert, supporting project management and engineering teams with Process Safety concerns.
- Gather and compile Process Safety and Environmental information.
- Establish risk tolerances and prepare the Basis of Safety documentation.
- Develop hazard studies to meet client requirements.
- Conduct Process Safety Reviews, including Human Factors, Hazardous Area Classification, and Inherent Safety assessments.
- Maintain Process Safety documentation.
- Support business development activities through client meetings and proposals.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Leadership in Hazard Studies and LOPA.
- SIL determination, risk assessment, and Graph analysis.
- Expertise in Hazardous Area Classification and DSEAR.
- Ability to demonstrate ALARP principles.
- Knowledge of Process Safety and Environmental legislation and management systems.
- Experience in Fire & Explosion analysis and fire safety design.
Technical Requirements
- Mentor junior team members and promote continuous improvement.
- Proficient with engineering and design software relevant to process safety.
- Understand and apply engineering procedures effectively.
