We are looking to hire a Lead Application Support Engineer to join our Platform and Infrastructure department. This is a challenging, fast-paced, and exciting environment, with plenty of opportunities to influence the technology area.
In this role, you will lead the Application Support team in keeping our customer-facing systems running smoothly 24/7 by responding to alerts and at times actively monitoring the applications and systems. Our remit revolves around mitigating incidents, but to succeed you will need to also manage people, create processes, and maintain documentation.
Responsibilities- Proactively identify any potential issues to production.
- Create and present incident reports.
- Engage with development and operations teams to adequately prepare for upcoming releases.
- Arrange on-call rotation schedules and shift patterns.
- Mentor and line manage colleagues.
- Participate in the hiring process for Application Support Engineers.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in supporting large-scale applications and systems.
- Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills including analyzing logs and audit trails.
- Experience in using and configuring monitoring tools such as Grafana and ELK.
- Experience in configuring, maintaining, and routing alerts.
- Experience in executing automated tasks and scripts to remediate production issues or collect information.
