Are you looking for a new opportunity with an organization that values their staff and loves to see you progress? You will assist the Store Manager on a daily basis in the operation of the store in an efficient and effective manner, in accordance with the Society's policies, procedures, and rules, with the objective of maximizing store profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Store Manager in his/her absence.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of stock availability to customers through the effective use of stock and order procedures, to maximize sales within agreed stockholding targets.
  • Implement and maintain stock ranges in accordance with Society planograms and promotional programmes, ensuring merchandise is well-presented and promotional material is effectively displayed.
  • Keep stock losses to a minimum via effective in-store stock controls, and record and report all known losses such as wastage, freezer breakdowns, burglary, and theft in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain the security of the store, its contents, and its staff in accordance with the Food Store Policy & Procedures Manual.
  • Ensure that the store is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation, identifying and communicating any required remedial maintenance work.
  • Ensure all store personnel adhere to Society policies and procedures, taking appropriate disciplinary action where necessary.
  • Ensure the store is adequately staffed, supervised, and managed during all hours of occupancy to meet the level and nature of demand of the business.
  • Promote effective customer service and ensure that every effort is made by all store staff to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements including Health and Safety Practices, Fire Precautions, Food Hygiene Controls, and Licensing Laws, and ensure completion of the Daily Operating Book.
  • Abide by and carry out Health and Safety Policy.
  • Abide by and carry out the Society's Employment Policy.
  • Carry out other duties as may be required by the business from time to time.
