About the Role

Elder is launching visiting care in the Manchester area – be amongst the first to apply! We’re looking for self-employed Care Assistants to join our platform and provide one-to-one support to older people at home. These part-time placements will be available throughout the surrounding area.

Providing personalised care through one-off or regular weekly visits, you’ll work directly with the customer to create a schedule everyone is happy with – meaning caring with Elder can fit around your friends, family and hobbies.

Care recipients are likely to not yet need or want round-the-clock support so hours may be flexible throughout the day depending on the placement. Your assistance will help them to stay in control and independent for as long as possible and you’ll have plenty of time to provide meaningful support and form real connections.

Main Duties

Daily responsibilities will vary depending on your care recipient but may include:

• Personal care
• Medication reminders
• Food shopping
• Meal preparation
• Mobility support
• Companionship
• Light housework
• Choose your own rate between £16-£20 per hour
• Work flexible hours – apply for placements that fit around your personal life and commitments.
• Work with as many or as few clients as you’d like
• Get access to the award-winning ElderHub app, and take control of self-employed care work directly from your phone.
• Receive dedicated support from the Elder HQ team, and the in-app newsfeed and help centre

Requirements:

• Be able to work independently (with no manager supervision) in the care recipient’s home
• Able to provide between 5-20 hours of care a week
• Have at least 6 months professional care experience
• The ability to pass a background check (enhanced DBS in England and Wales, or a PVG in Scotland)
• The ability to provide 2 professional references that Elder can verify
• A good level of spoken English and the right to work in the UK
