The Senior M&E Engineer will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical maintenance services on-site. This includes overseeing planned and reactive works, acting as a technical lead and Authorised Person (AP), and providing guidance to other engineers. The role is based on a single healthcare site, requiring experience in hospital engineering systems, including medical gases.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical queries and engineering escalation on site.
- Lead complex maintenance tasks and fault diagnosis across M&E systems.
- Carry out Authorised Person duties (e.g., Medical Gas, HV/LV, Water Safety) in accordance with HTMs and relevant standards.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements related to healthcare engineering.
- Support planning and implementation of PPM schedules and reactive works.
- Liaise with contractors and stakeholders to ensure safe and effective maintenance delivery.
- Maintain detailed records and reports, ensuring accurate documentation of works.
- Support development and mentoring of junior engineering staff.
- Contribute to audits, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Participate in the on-call rota (1 in every 5-6 weeks), including weekend work.
- Undertake other duties as required by the Estates or Facilities team.
