We have an exceptional opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. We are seeking an enthusiastic nurse with a passion for patient care, a commitment to high clinical standards, and a desire for a stimulating and rewarding work environment, particularly with an interest in Orthopaedics, surgery, and diagnostic imaging. Our clinic offers both First Opinion and Orthopaedic Referral services, and our nurses rotate across all areas.
Diversify your skillset
At East Neuk Veterinary Clinic, we set the bar high for surgical care in dogs and cats, often receiving referrals from veterinary surgeons across Scotland for specialist orthopaedic treatment. As a result, we handle a diverse orthopaedic caseload, encompassing routine procedures and fracture cases. Our focus remains on delivering affordable, evidence-based care of the highest quality to each of our patients.
The role will involve various responsibilities such as inpatient care, client assistance, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia support, nurse consultations, assisting in surgeries, maintaining surgical equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring adequate stock levels.
Work in a state-of-the-art Hospital
We have well-equipped, spacious operating theatres with Multiparameter Monitoring, DR X-Ray, plus a new Siemens CT scanner and ultrasound. We stock Arthrex and Synthes fracture plating and TPLO systems, whilst the clinic also has CUE, Synacart and the Biometrix THR kits available. At East Neuk we believe in providing all our staff with the best equipment available.
Working pattern
Our team is central to our mission, and we recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance to help them thrive. This is a full-time role, with 40 hours spread across 4 days per week, including a rotating weekend schedule of 1:10. Shifts typically fall within the hours of 7:30 am to 6:30 pm / 8:00 am to 7:00 pm or 9:30 am to 8:30 pm. There are no out-of-hours or on-call responsibilities associated with this position.

We're proud to have a welcoming and supportive team consisting of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 10 Veterinary Nurses, and 5 front-of-house staff members. Two of our surgeons hold prestigious RCVS and European Specialist qualifications in Small Animal Surgery, and we're fortunate to have numerous experienced Certificate Holders and Advanced Practitioners on board. Our collaborative team fosters a supportive and inclusive atmosphere which we pride ourselves on. With this in mind, we will welcome applications from RVNs of varying experience levels, including those who have recently qualified or would be new to referral practice.
