Triple West Medical have been appointed by an NHS Trust based in the East Midlands to help recruit 2 x Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Senior Clinical Fellows, ST3 level or above, for Fixed Term Contract post. The Trust is one of the largest employers in the area and is on an exciting journey. With over 15,000 staff, they provide a range of national and international specialist services and are at the forefront of new procedures and research programmes. The Trust is going through an exciting period of change and is now seeking two Senior Clinical Fellows to join the department.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain excellent experience in OMFS including rotations in oncology and deformity sub-specialties. You will work closely with consultants, other junior doctors, and multidisciplinary teams. The post holder will be part of the 2nd on-call rota alongside trainees and other fellows on a 1:6 basis and should therefore have completed core competencies, have full MRCS, and have experience working within the NHS.

The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department has 6 surgeries equipped for outpatient and minor oral surgical use, including a large theatre space suitable for Bariatric & mobility-impaired patients. In addition, there is a recovery room, 2 clinical rooms, and a number of interview rooms.

Main Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient services (theatres and clinics) under consultant supervision
  • Contribute to the emergency out of hours rota
  • Supervise daily ward rounds
  • Conduct patient management in line with plans agreed with the Consultants
  • Support and teach junior colleagues effectively
  • Participate in M&M and MDT meetings
  • Contribute to Quality & Improvement Projects within the department
  • Attend departmental meetings
