RxCelerate is looking for a Laboratory Manager to lead and support dedicated laboratory staff, providing expert knowledge and direction on all laboratory-related matters. This role requires strong leadership skills, a focus on staff development, and the ability to manage both current operations and future laboratory needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the primary point of contact for laboratory staff, offering leadership and guidance.
- Managing laboratory logistics, overseeing staff, and ensuring smooth workflows.
- Conducting inductions and providing training on laboratory equipment and safety procedures.
- Managing laboratory stocks, reagents, consumables, PPE, and equipment in collaboration with technicians.
- Ensuring the proper preparation of reagents and the management of laboratory-based assets.
- Coordinating equipment upgrades, purchases, maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Overseeing laboratory audits, inspections, and temperature monitoring systems.
- Maintaining up-to-date laboratory documentation, including SOPs and Risk Assessments.
- Promoting safety, recycling, and proper waste disposal within the laboratory environment.
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
- Proven experience working as a Laboratory Manager in a pharmaceutical/R&D laboratory.
- Educated to degree level in a relevant scientific field.
- Previous line management experience.
- Knowledge of laboratory Health and Safety regulations.
- Knowledge of the requirements of the Human Tissue Act.
- Technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to work well under pressure to balance conflicting deadlines and changes in prioritisation.
Desirable:
- Experience of working under GxP standards.
- NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award or equivalent.
RxCelerate offers a competitive salary with an annual bonus scheme, company pension, and company benefit package (life assurance, critical illness, and medical insurance). While full-time hours are preferred, part-time hours will still be considered.
This position is initially a 12-month fixed-term contract.
