We're looking for an exceptional Senior Staff Nurse with the ability to inspire others to deliver the highest standards of patient care. If you're passionate about nursing and you want to grow your career in a leadership role, now's the time to apply for this Senior role in the Critical Care Unit.
This role is about leading by example and being an ambassador for the organisation's way of caring. It's about recognising talent, nurturing junior staff, and mentoring them to be the best nurses they can be, using clinical skills and an empathetic approach to meet each individual patient's need.
Reporting to the Senior Sister you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team. You'll get to work with some of the best clinical talent around and experience with new practices, equipment and facilities, all of which are maintained to our high standards.
Your key accountabilities will be to provide day-to-day supervision, including clinical supervision of junior nursing staff and students of the department, with responsibilities including all or most of the following:
- Work scheduling/rotas
- Involvement in recruitment, induction, performance review, attendance management, disciplinary and grievance matters
- Competency assessment, training, development and the mentoring of staff
- Ensure work is carried out efficiently and to agreed working practice and protocols
Located in the city centre of Leeds with excellent transport links to the surrounding area, this Private Hospital is a highly successful state-of-the-art building with 70 en-suite bedrooms and an 8 bedded critical care unit, which accepts patients from a range of specialities, including patients who have undergone cardiac, general or neurological surgery.
Requirements:
- Nurse/Practitioner qualification
- NMC Registration and Pin
- Qualification in teaching and assessment
- Professional management qualification
- ILS/ALS
You'll have experience of multispeciality surgical procedures, plus further professional training, experience and, preferably, a qualification in a specialist area. You'll also have excellent clinical skills and experience of being in a mentoring role.
