Treasurer

We are looking for a volunteer Treasurer.

Responsibilities

Bedgebury Foundation is a small grantmaking charity that funds schools and charities in Kent and East Sussex. We are currently in a transition phase, with a new Director of Administration starting soon and a new Chair taking office from November 2025. Due to this transition, we have identified gaps in our finance knowledge that need to be filled by a Treasurer with strong financial skills.

The Treasurer will perform all regular Trustee duties and work alongside the Director of Administration, who is the sole staff member, on additional operational tasks. These tasks include managing bank account users, authorizing payments, preparing budgets, financial reports, and cash flows. This role requires approximately one day per month in addition to Trustee responsibilities.

Experience in education or additional learning needs is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

Accountancy qualifications or experience in investment management and/or general financial management are required.
