Our client is a leading provider of mechanical and electrical retrofit services across the UK. They have ambitious growth and profitability targets for 2025 and 2026 and need an experienced Operations Director to support the Chief Executive.

The business deploys a large permanent and subcontract workforce, in vans, to customers\’ commercial premises or domestic dwellings.

This role would suit an experienced operations or business director who has led a large operational workforce of engineers involved in retrofit or repair of equipment.

This is a hands-on role focused on driving immediate operational improvements on behalf of the CEO.

Objectives for the new Operations Director:

In 3 Months:

• Build credibility across the direct and subcontract workforce
• Ensure customer feedback meets the company\’s expectations
• Begin compiling data to measure performance and profit contribution
• Increase jobs per man day
• Improve first visit efficiency metrics

Within 6 months:

• Align operational performance with industry benchmarks
• Ensure parity between internal and subcontract workforce in terms of cost and outputs
• Create accurate data and reporting to ensure operations deliver the required profit contribution
