About the role: First Glasgow currently has a vacancy for a spray painter at Caledonia Regional Repair Centre, requirements will include shift working. This role is primarily responsible for the repainting of company vehicles (buses).
Minimum Requirements:
- Be able to work at a high standard with a good attention to detail
- Be experienced in all aspects of commercial vehicle spray painting processes including vehicle preparation and application of fillers and primers
- Have a good knowledge and skills relating to paint application procedures for 2k paint systems including basecoat and lacquer processes
- Be experienced in the application of vinyl's/graphics to vehicle bodywork
- Possess a clean UK driving licence
- Must be a UK resident
- Be willing to undertake appropriate training as required
Reporting to: Repair Centre Manager
Hourly pay rate: £18.50 per/hour (37 hrs p/week)
Work shift: You must have a flexible working approach to our current 3 shift rotas (06:00-14:00, 10:00-18:00, and 18:00-02:00)
About you:
- Previous experience in the application of Glasurit or PPG paint systems would be advantageous
- Must have a minimum level 2 NVQ standard or equivalent (i.e. City & Guilds level 1 & 2)
- Do you have experience with the use and application of different types of solvents, paints and other hazardous materials including metallic colours, pearls and water based paints?
